Zaharoff Signature AURUM
Our very first gourmand! You know it had to be good. We went back in time, to one of the oldest desserts-BAKLAVA. Yes, that is correct, baklava!
The origins of baklava date back to ancient times. Around the eighth century B.C.E., people in the Assyrian Empire (which spread across parts of modern-day Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Syria, and Turkey) arranged unleavened flatbreads into layers, with chopped nuts in-between, to be enjoyed during special events. Centuries later, the Ancient Greek and Roman baklava was a dish consisting of many layers of dough, filled with cheese and honey, and flavored with bay leaves. However, the earliest versions of baklava as we know it today came around 500 years ago, during the Ottoman Empire. In fact, one of the oldest Baklava stores still exists and claims to be 130 years old!
We didn't want to make this gourmand too sweet and when Master Perfumer Claude Dir showed us the honeycomb absolute, we knew that it was exactly what we wanted. It is still incredibly rich and could even pass for an amber oil. Hence AURUM, meaning "gold" in Latin.
Honeycomb Absolute is captured from the natural wax found in fragrant French honeycombs. Through a CO2 extraction method, the wax is gently melted and strained, a ritual that eradicates any impurities, while ensuring the preservation of the purest, sweetest essence.
Wile baklava remains the inspiration for Signature Aurum, the honeycomb absolute provides the backbone for this masterpiece and shines throughout the life of the fragrance. From the very first spray, the wearer is embraced by the most photo-realistic, raw, and sensual honey.
Like the industrious bees that create this elixir, the fragrance always remains true to its origin. The honeycomb oil unites with the warmth of amber and vanilla, imparting a velvety smoothness reminiscent of the classic dessert from which it draws its inspiration.
Its ethereal sweetness lingers. A delicate yet enveloping aura imbues itself like a warm hug from a familiar friend or lover, a fleeting embrace that heightens the beauty of each moment.

This scent is one that I will definitely add to my collection.
En mi opinión es un perfume delicioso. Se destaca mucho la nota de miel. Es un gourmand de altísima calidad, se nota la nobleza de sus ingredientes. La duración es sobresaliente. Recomendado.
I’ve been wanting to sample this for quite some time. I’m so glad I did. The dry down is amazing. If it were only about the drive down, I would have given it 5 stars. Why the opening and mid is not bad by any stretch. The resin/ber in the opening and mid was a little strong. It reminded me of Maison Alhambra Tabac. The sweet and delicious gourmond facets show themselves more late in the mid and into the dry down. I’m glad it’s not an all out gourmand but I wish the resin/ambery note toned down just a little. I probably will not purchase a full bottle because as I said for most of its life, it reminds me of Tabac (I own already) But I’m so glad I sampled because I’ve been curious for quite some time. PS: I have not found anything on the market that reminds me of the legendary discontinued CH Men Prive. I wouldn’t mind seeing Zaharoff release something in a similar vein. Leather, boozy, Vanillic and tobacco..
Smells so sweet... initial sniff is divine. Let's see how it wears... might be full bottle worthy
